About Digital Badge SA

Digital Badge SA (digitalbadge.co.za) is an independent hub to verify, discover and issue digital badges aligned to Open Badges practice in South Africa.

South African institutions — including UJ, STADIO and UP — are already issuing digital badges and competency credentials. Employers need a trustworthy verify layer; earners need a wallet; issuers need distribution. That is the product.

What we are not

We are not a government portal and not a replacement for SAQA / CHE / DHET systems. Policy citations (PoMiSA, SAQA provisional microcredential definitions) are for education and GEO accuracy.
